Christopher Kemp began his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Los Angeles, California and then spent several years in private industry as a business manager and CFO before starting his firm in 1995 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Chris then joined forces with Irene to form Kemp & Hymanson CPAs, LLP in 2017.

Chris received his BA Degree from the University of California at San Diego and an MBA Degree, with dual majors in Finance and in Computers and Information Systems, from the University of California at Los Angeles.  In addition to being a CPA, Chris is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Personal Financial Specialist.  Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Chris and his wife, Kathie, live on Lake Norman, where Chris is an avid water-skier and enjoys biking.  Chris and Kathie also love hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains near their farm in Thurmond, North Carolina.
